Bulgaria legend Hristo Stoichkov breaks down in tears in response to racist chants against England

Bulgaria legend Hristo Stoichkov broke down in tears when asked about the racist abuse England players suffered in Sofia on Monday night.

The Euro 2020 qualifier was marred by fascist salutes and monkey noises from the stands, with the game suspended twice as a result.

Yesterday it was confirmed that UEFA have charged the Bulgarian FA as a result, but the shame was all too much for the country’s greatest ever player.

Appearing on TUDN, Stoichkov gave his solution: “‘That fans are not allowed in the stadium or even heavier punishments.

“Like in England for years. Five years without going to stadiums. People don’t deserve to suffer.

“Do you think that I feel comfortable?”
